Philosophy of Education: My personal educational philosophy relates mainly to the idea of progressivism with a little postmodernism. I believe that teachers should be there to guide students learning. There should also definitely be collaboration between students and teachers in order to form a good bond and give the children a sense of self confidence that they can do the work and learn. I also believe that the emphasis on problem solving and learning skills that are needed in today’s world are a good way to expand teaching curriculum as well. I believe that teaching is an honor and that helping students develop these skills is a must. Giving continuous feedback is also something that a good teacher should advocate in their classroom. I believe that teaches should also know that social and emotional development is also an important goal in the development of children and should incorporate mastering these skills in the classroom. I think that teachers should also support group learning and this is one way in which that social development can be mastered. These are ways in which I believe a good teacher is and how I plan on being when I finish my education and become a teacher.
